Communication and Partnerships Manager

Description of the association:

 

Created in 2002 by the French NGO Act for Cambodia (APLC), Sala Baï is a hotel school based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, very close to the archaeological site of Angkor. Each year, the school trains 150 very disadvantaged young people free of charge in careers in the hotel and catering industry and in sustainable agriculture. 70% of promotions are made up of girls due to their greater vulnerability. Since the school was established 21 years ago, 2 students have been educated at the school. 100% of them found a job at the end of their ASEAN-certified diploma course. More than 98 people have been lifted out of poverty thanks to Sala Bai's action

Our mission

 

In collaboration with the APLC Paris team and the Sala Baï Program Director, the COMMUNICATION & PARTNERSHIPS Manager will be responsible in Cambodia for implementing actions aimed at promoting the Sala Baï Hotel School program. by developing its visibility, notoriety and attractiveness to all current and potential internal and external targets (institutional, NGOs, hoteliers, customers, students, etc.).

Its main missions and activities are:

 

1/ EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

 

A) Community Manager (Facebook & Instagram, Tiktok….) in charge of digital animation.

  • Definition of an editorial schedule for social networks in line with the editorial line of Agir pour le Cambodge
  • Social media monitoring
  • Interactions with Internet users – interactive content, reply to messages, respond to comments
  • Benchmark similar or inspiring programs on social networks
  • Creation of content/photos/videos/designs
  • Management of digital web tools: Google Business / website/ TripAdvisor/ booking.com

 

B) Public/External Relations and Press :

  • Develops specialist and general press relations to increase the visibility and notoriety of the Sala Baï hotel school for all of the school's targets, including those for the Employer Brand
    - Monitoring of impact according to defined PR indicators and personalization of Press Relations
  • In agreement and collaboration with the school director:
    – Represent the hotel school and make yourself known to all major local stakeholders to develop the notoriety and visibility of Sala Bai.
    – Present the Hotel program at all external events
  • In charge of visits to the school's application structures to make the program known
    – On-site customer loyalty and development of potential networks
    – Develop potential private, corporate, institutional donors, etc.

 

C) Marketing Management

  • Marketing & Communication Support
    – Supervises the creation and graphic design of all digital and print Marketing & communications media allowing communication to all of our internal or external targets (videos, menus, signage, sponsors table, leaflets, kakemono, menus, room directory etc…)
    – Meet communication needs, particularly to act for Cambodia (photos/videos/designs)
    – Monthly reports and distribution
  • Events
    – Manages and leads event projects from the creation to the smooth running of events highlighting the school's program to Institutional targets, partners or Clients
    – Coordinates the different actors of the event
    – Supervises the management of invitations and reminders to guests or participants
    – Communicates on events through all communication channels, during the project, the event (photo, video etc.) and on post-event results.
  • Partnerships:
    – Supervision of contracts with travel agencies, business providers for application structures.
    – Supervision of contracts for the activities offered by the hotel reception to customers and search for new partners for the activities.
    – Innovates by seeking new efficient contracts for the school’s activity
    – Search for partnerships and points of sale to promote products such as cookbooks.
    – Activity reports from partners, according to request
  • Data analyses
    – Definition and monitoring of indicators
    – Monitoring the results of marketing actions undertaken and reporting

 

2/ EMPLOYER BRAND

  • Develop tools and initiatives to maximize the image of Sala Bai School as a Preference and Reference of choice in the region and Cambodia
  • Acts in support of Social Workers, in terms of sourcing and innovative solutions to support the recruitment of future students.
    – Work with teams in the field to assess communication support needs.
  • Administer the website by giving visibility to the Employer Brand (staff and students)
  • Supports school management and department heads to define or develop value propositions based on differentiating local needs
  • Manage the speech and Q&A on the school's values ​​and program for all staff and students

 

  3/ INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

  • Creates and manages an internal communications plan in conjunction with the management committee to make all SB school projects increasingly participatory
    – Brainstorming, meetings, notes to share ideas and SB news
  • Supports the management committee, ensuring the consistency of internal messages, by bringing together the points to be communicated and providing the right communications supports.
    – Production of internal communications materials
    – Writing of Sala Baï’s monthly reports and distribution of these to members of APLC, FOSBA, ASSET H&C, etc.
    – Support for operational teams on feeb backs and weekly meetings
    – Support the increase in skills of teams on digital tools
  • Organizes, coordinates and brings together internal events with department managers, guarantors of the operational event
  • Manage the school Gmail account and all email addresses

 

4/ FUNDRAISING IN LINK WITH APLC

  • Looking for funds in Asia with a focus on Cambodia to support the Sala Bai program and finance Marketing & communication actions
    – Prospecting (mapping, Identification of potential targets)
    – Presentation of the project (communication of financial supports and KPIs)
    – Instruction of financing files
    – Analytical, narrative and financial reporting
  • Builds donor loyalty
    – Implementation of adapted communications and/or events

 

5/ MANAGEMENT

  • Manage a 'Communication Officer' (local employee) and develop his know-how and interpersonal skills
    – Integrate and support any new person in the Marketing & Communication department
    – Identifies training needs and action plans for skills development
    – Define annual objectives and support points
    – Monitors support and development by providing regular feedback
    – Organizes its annual interview with regard to the defined objectives and local management during the year

 

Training

  • University training / Grande Ecole Master II level, in Marketing & Communication

 

Experience

  • Solid experience in similar Marketing & communications functions, in an environment
  • Management experience with an ability to adapt to a multicultural dimension.

 

Languages

  • Very good writing skills: French / English

 

Required qualities

  • Know-how required
    – Excellent communication and organizational skills: Ability to communicate with high-level contacts: Hotel management, NGO managers, foreign correspondents in Asia and Australia
    – Very good knowledge of the following tools:
    * Office Pack, digital tools and social networks
    * Image creation software: Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop – Graphics and video editing
    – Experience in project management
    – Ability to develop a 360° strategic vision, to organize and work in a team

  • Position and/or internship experience in Asia would be a plus for this mission.
  • 1 return plane ticket Paris / Siem Reap / Paris per year
  • The volunteer is fed on site for lunch from Monday to Friday.
