On May 16, the Compagnons de La Guilde met at the Aéro-Club de France (AéCF). First meeting entirely dedicated to the Companions apart from any other event, whether it is the festival Les Ecrans de l'aventure in Dijon or the General Assembly.
This meeting made it possible to pay tribute to Hubert de Chevigny with a poignant speech by Catherine Maunoury, President of the AéCF, of which Hubert was also a director, and by our founder Patrick Edel.
It was also an opportunity to highlight certain projects led by Companions: Evrard Wendenbaum presented from Madagascar his scientific expedition projects with Naturevolution in Sulawesi (Indonesia), in order to register several thousand square kilometers as a protected area. The Guild announced to him the selection of his initiative as a “pilot project” and is proud to support it, including financially. Sébastien Roubinet returned to the extraordinary Nagalaqa expedition, which was also a pilot project for La Guilde. A film is being prepared on the expedition, and it is hoped that it will be finished in time to be presented at the next edition at the next edition of Screens. Finally, Dorine Bourneton mentioned the research program on exoskeletons “Standing Up”, of the Institute for research on the spinal cord and the brain (IRME) for which she is very invested. An absolutely exciting project.
Finally, the evening ended in style with the welcome of three new Companions: Hugues Dewavrin, Matthieu Bourgeois and Thierry Barbaut. Three other Companions will be welcomed on the occasion of the General Assembly on June 20th. The order of the Companions of La Guilde thus continues to grow in number of beautiful personalities embodying audacity and commitment, within a certain ethic, all core values of La Guilde.
