Descriptif :
CDE has been providing medico-surgical care to vulnerable children in Jordan since 2012. As the Syrian conflict turned into a protracted humanitarian crisis in the region, paediatric surgical needs also evolved from emergency to gaps in access to health services. CDE identified the following main gaps: in the field of orthopaedics, children do not only need medico-surgical care for war-related trauma and wounds but also for musculoskeletal anomalies, deformities and malformations leading to physical impairments that hamper their participation in society in the short and long run (education, livelihoods, etc.) with multiplier effects on their families and communities at large.
