Coordinator of volunteers

The Virlanie Foundation offers the most disadvantaged children of Manila, Philippines, a warm family environment, opportunities for healing and development through a multidisciplinary approach so that they can reach their full potential and integrate into society. Company.

Through our interventions, we pursue two results:

  • Children have a loving home, are fed, clothed, cared for and healthy, and are no longer abused, neglected or exploited s. They receive an education and grow up to be able to earn a living and become active and fulfilled citizens.
  • Beneficiary parents have the capacity to meet the material and psychosocial needs of their children. They have a regular source of income and contribute to improving the living conditions of the community in which they live.

The Virlanie Foundation has a long history of international and local volunteering and is currently hosting two other French-speaking VSIs.

Description of the mission

 

The volunteer will work within the Human Resources department, in liaison with all Virlanie teams. She or he will ensure:

  • Recruitment of volunteers based on the needs of the foundation's programs,
  • Orientation and support for volunteers,
  • Creating links between local teams and volunteers.

The main activities of the volunteer will be as follows:

Strategy

  • Develop the approach to volunteering in cooperation with the management of the foundation and in accordance with our vision, our mission, and our objectives.
  • Feed and/or create monitoring tools for the volunteer program.

 

Recruitment

  • Define and develop volunteer offers and descriptions in collaboration with program managers.
  • Coordinate the different stages of the recruitment process (launch of the advertisement, reception of proposals, interviews, contracting of volunteering, etc.).
  • Feed a database with profiles and information on new volunteers.

 

Tracking

  • Orient volunteers based in the Philippines as well as volunteers from abroad upon their arrival, facilitate good integration and handling of missions.
  • Coordinate the monitoring of volunteering missions (through individual or group interviews for example).
  • Initiate a team spirit and cultural exchanges with employee teams.
  • Ensure the safety, cleanliness and organization of the volunteer house.

The volunteer will mainly work in the organization's offices but will regularly travel to the field.

 

Profile

 

Technical skills

  • Very good command of French and English (oral and written)
  • Above average interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent command of Pack Office
  • Knowledge and/or experience in team management (employees or volunteers), program monitoring and reporting and communication are a plus

Career

  • A master's degree in project management, human resources, international cooperation, development, political science, psychology or any other relevant field is desired. However, we are open to atypical profiles.
  • At least 6 months' experience in the development/NGO sector, or in the private sector in a position that requires significant organizational skills is required.

 

Conditions

  • 15 Philippine Pesos per month of mission + accommodation + lunch on working days
  • VSI (International Solidarity Volunteer) status – No need to be of French nationality but obligation to speak French for this position
  • Coverage of visa costs and plane ticket (start and end of mission)
  • 2 days of vacation earned per month (i.e. 24 days in total)
  • Ability to telework 1 day per week
