The vision of the “Leqmet Mariam” is to create a safe and empowering space for people facing difficulties to connect with volunteers, build a network of solidarity and participate in community workshops. The initial soup kitchen will develop and expand in a sustainable and dynamic manner that reduces dependencies and creates synergies among the different partners and beneficiaries involved. The kitchen will be transformed into a hygienic and healthy environment for the preparation of hot meals for 800 families on a daily basis who also join in on the communal psychosocial workshops in the outdoor designed area. Our objectives are to inspire and empower marginalized communities to seek help as well as learn the process, in such a way that they also become the helpers and generate positive synergies with the community for a sustainable development in the future.
